George Reid
Hanbury Strategy
Associate Director
George Reid is an outstanding public affairs professional. Over the last six years, he has deployed clear strategic thinking, a nous for policy development and creative thinking to deliver tangible results for clients. These include reform to planning regulations, shaping perceptions of new energy technologies and protecting the reputation of growing technology companies against regulatory headwinds. Having developed his policy and public affairs specialism during time in the European Parliament, DeHavilland and Weber Shandwick, George has embedded himself as an influential Associate Director at Hanbury Strategy where he has built a reputation for thinking outside the box, organic business development and innovating the way in which public affairs campaigns are delivered. George is a valuable consultant that is never afraid to take risks and push the boundaries of how public affairs can grab attention and shift perceptions. Internally, he manages teams in a friendly, approachable and affable way; ensuring that more junior members of the team are able to share their ideas in a fun, constructive environment. George is a consistent advocate for the industry, and firmly believes that raising awareness of opportunity in corporate and public affairs is a critical step in improving its diversity and inclusivity. He has actively supported Newcastle University’s PARTNERS programme, supporting those from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds who want to get into politics. He is an IHaveAVoice mentor, and represents those within the first decade of their career in public affairs as a member of the PRCA Next Generation Public Affairs Committee.
