In 2023, Hamid rotated into the external communications team as a third-year degree apprentice, joining the wider corporate affairs set-up as its sole apprentice in a function full of high-level professionals. His confidence and go-getter attitude have enabled him to take on responsibilities typically handled by far more senior colleagues, while still at the start of his comms career. Through PR agency management, driving campaign messaging on industry-led changes or landing national coverage that drove commercial wins, Hamid earned his place on the external communications team while still an apprentice and made the role his own. Hamid’s proactivity extends beyond the scope of his day-to-day responsibilities. He is always looking for ways to share his experience with others, mentor interns and new starters, while looking to give back to the industry through his championing of inclusivity and diversity in communications.
