Aduro Communications

Aduro’s Building Brilliance is a positive example of what can be achieved as an agency when you believe all young people deserve to see PR as a career for them. Soft-launched in 2024 after years of informal success, the programme was refined in 2025 and bolstered by being runner-up in this category last year.

Internships are fed by our in-demand work experience scheme, which saw 100+ applications last year, with 20 joining us for up to two weeks.

New for 2025 was a partnership with the well-respected Creative Mentor Network, which drove 65% of work experience referrals. Others came from existing strong ties with People Like Us and The Taylor Bennett Foundation. Uni alumni networks and friends and family networks also contributed.

Three young people interned for us on two-month placements paid pro-rata at £26k/pa, while for the first time we organised a year-long placement; he was from Loughborough University. The four had a 50/50 gender split and three came from lower socio-economic / diverse ethnic backgrounds.

This approach is now core to Aduro’s growth with no internship ever dragged out for cheaper employee costs. Two interns took up full-time roles while the other one, plus our uni placement, start full-time in a few months.

Our goal is to find and develop the next generation of PR and Social Media innovators because – here at Aduro – diverse life experiences and perspectives shape us all for the better.
