Blurred

Blurred, a B Corporation with an impressive certification score (120, compared with the pass mark of 80), presents a robust approach to sustainability, integrating it deeply into its business model. The agency’s annual Impact Report reflects a broad understanding of sustainability, considering both environmental and ‘people’ dimensions, while its operational strategies include energy efficiency measures for both office and remote work settings, and a policy to support employees in switching to renewable home energy. This commitment extends to the agency’s supply chain too, with Blurred enforcing strict sustainability and local engagement criteria.

Despite having global clients and an international team, the agency’s staff took no business flights in 2024, but Blurred is also realistic – acknowledging that as a small business, its impact is relatively small; which is why it also helps clients identify and mitigate their own environmental and societal risks. What’s more, a rigorous client selection process ensures that Blurred only collaborates with companies aligned with its sustainability values – it says it has rejected more than 60 briefs to avoid superficiality and greenwashing. As part of this, the agency shares its code of conduct document with suppliers, cohort partners and clients in order to outline its requirements and expectations.

The judges noted the integration of Blurred’s sustainability principles into its whole business operation, and were particularly impressed by its support of staff making renewable energy transitions at home and its rigorous client engagement process.

Judges comments: “You are deeply connecting your business' direct impact on the world around it with the impact you are having through your client work.”
