Lianna McLean
Earnies
Senior Account Manager
Lianna McLean has demonstrated exceptional prowess in PR, which has even resulted in helping to change legislation. As senior account manager at consultancy Earnies, she has spearheaded impactful campaigns, including ‘Killed Here’ for the charity Killed Women. Alongside raising the profile of the charity’s founders – mothers who had lost daughters to domestic homicide – getting them on the 2024 New Year Honours list, her work helped to bring about a change in the law, increasing the minimum sentence for strangulation by a partner from 15 to 25 years.
Within the agency itself, McLean has led a drive to recruit for roles from talent pools outside the M25. This inclusivity push has seen her delivering talks on the industry to GCSE students, beginning in Yorkshire and scheduled to visit a different county of the UK each month this year. Meanwhile, as well as bagging £100,000 of new business already in 2025, McLean has found time to champion female leadership by securing three impressive speakers for a first-of-its-kind event focused on women in advertising and leadership roles.
The judges were impressed by McLean’s ability to lead high-impact campaigns, noting that the ‘Killed Women’ work not only achieved wide reach but was also influential enough to effect legislative change, a rare and commendable outcome in PR.
Judges comment: “Wow! This woman is really going somewhere in our industry and not just having an impact on her agency but actually changing policy and people’s lives through her work.”
