Propeller
This shows up in our policies, many of which originate with our truly empowered DEI committee. These enable people from different backgrounds and with different circumstances to thrive and grow. Whether that’s enhanced paternity leave for parents, flexible working for all or the ability to switch out religious holidays, all are designed to allow teams to get on and succeed without having to waste time and energy.
Policies aren’t everything though, and as a PR agency making a difference through our work is also key which is why we work on pro bono clients and industry initiatives to improve diversity in our industry.
This includes; WACL and Bloom, which support women in the marketing industry. Outvertising which supports the LGBT community in adland, the Conscious Ad Network, which focuses on ensuring advertising works for everyone, Brixton Finishing School, which helps people from under-represented backgrounds get into advertising and the Taylor Bennett Foundation which does the same for PR.
Finally we have the jewel in our crown, The Empower Cafe and community. This initiative was co-founded by Propeller Associate Director Louise Watson, initially to create a space for women and other diverse attendees at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, but which has now grown to pop up at other events, exist as an always-on online community and a podcast.
