Propeller’s internship programme is one of the jewels in our cultural crown and something of which we are incredibly proud. The programme has developed team members who have progressed to senior management positions within the agency, as well as nurtured some of our best and brightest employees whose diverse talents are evident on a daily basis. Of our current staff, 21.5% started at Propeller as interns or apprentices.

Our internship programme has evolved but the intention has always been the same - to provide experience and inspiration for someone starting out in PR with the goal of being able to hire them as a new Propeller team member at the end of the process.

As we’ve grown as an agency and the world of work has changed post-pandemic, we’ve been more thoughtful and purposeful about our scheme, ensuring that we attract a diverse cohort and that we provide the appropriate support for them to prosper in a hybrid working environment.

Our success rate with hiring and retaining our interns in the business is excellent, with the UK interns remaining with the business for five years on average and many attaining senior management roles. Our current and former interns contribute immensely to Propeller culture and play a huge role in our business growth and general success.

This year we have rolled our internship scheme in the US and have seen three interns begin to progress through the business, making the step up to account executives and account coordinators.
